Wow, didn’t realize tackling was acceptable in European football (obviously, American football is another story 😅). Sorry to hear that happened! I’m glad it prompted such powerful realizations.

This is great. Storytelling in our lives is fundamental to building our confidence and acting intentionally.

I read the book “Hero on a Mission” by Donald Miller last year, and they really helped me identify how my life narrative can be shaped.

I might go and see this! I think Southgate's team has been one of the great sporting transformations in this country. You just need to see how wholesome (and ultimately successful) the England YouTube channel is to see how much love exists in their environment now. I'm dreading the moment Southgate eventually leaves!

I'm listening to the audiobook by David Goggins, which is called Can't Hurt Me. He is a navy seal vet coming out of a very hard beginning and life and the book documents how we dealt with the demons in his mind to overcome debilitating internal stories. I'd be fascinated to hear what you think of the book. I'm torn myself between its vulnerability, courage, and heart on one hand, and its extreme and punishing example of approaching personal challenges and success. Your message is one I need to hear over and over, but it seems I continuously fall prey to stories of self-doubt and have to pull myself out of that mental swamp over and over. Is that just the way it is in your experience, a never-ending vigilance that needs to be applied, or is there a point where that voice stops stalking us?
