Hey Eric, have you ever read In the Cairngorms by Nan Shepherd? A small gem of spiritual nature poetry that you might appreciate, given the photo in this week’s edition :)

Cheers, Chris!

I haven't delved into those poems. Yet! Thanks for the recommendation!

I started The Living Mountain a while, back but haven't finished it.

When I was in the Cairngorms, I read one of Nan Shepherd's short stories, Descent from the Cross, that's in a collection of her short stories called "Wild Geese". Utterly wonderful use of language, dialect.

I found out about her when she was mentioned in Robert Macfarlane's Landmarks. I loved the way she thought about the Cairngorms - the highest range of mountains in the UK. She would much prefer walking along the shoulder of these giants, rather than summiting. It's something that we've adopted for some of our hiking.

Sounds wonderful. I know I keep saying this, but I'd love to do some hiking in northern England and Scotland.

The weather has finally warmed up here (70's and sunny). Cycling, running, and hiking outdoors is a huge mindset booster for me. This makes getting "unstuck" so much easier.

But even in the dead of winter, forcing some active time outdoors is the best way for me to personally move brain/body through something I'm struggling with.

Same for me James. That's the same note I was going to leave. Nothing beats the literal and metaphorical quality of space than being under the open sky and moving in it.
